Forest Restoration through Native Plantation

In August 2018, Aaranyak supported a forest restoration activity in the Medchal Forest Division with the planting of 5,000 native species, including trees, shrubs, and climbers. The initiative aimed to restore degraded forest areas, improve biodiversity, and strengthen ecosystem services.

The plantation drive was designed with a focus on ecological integrity, ensuring the use of native plant species suited to the region’s natural conditions. To ensure long-term impact, the project included periodic survival monitoring of the planted saplings, followed by casualty replacement wherever required.

This activity not only contributed to carbon sequestration and habitat restoration but also reaffirmed Aaranyak’s commitment to sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation.
